Welcome to the home of Michael Grinnon, a 2004 graduate of the University of Maryland.

Mike Grinnon has the distinction of being the only basketball player in Maryland University history to play on both a National Champion and an a ACC Championship team.  Grinnon was the only freshman on the 2001-2002 national championship team.

Grinnon was a good shooter and worked hard in the weight room during his student athlete days at Maryland.

Mike’s biggest moment was in the 2004 ACC championship against Duke where due to team foul troubles, he played 10 minutes and made two key free throws.

As a senior, Grinnon got a little more time, playing double figures minutes in three games.

Johnny Holiday, the “Voice of the Terrapins” once referred to Grinnon as the “Mayor of College Park”.

Grinnon received three straight Maryland Basketball Academic Awards. Mike worked in the University of Maryland Athletic department for a time after graduating with a Bachelor of Art’s degree in Communications.

Ten years after winning the National Championship with the University of Maryland’s basketball team, Mike revisited his years at Maryland.  Check out what Mike had to say.
