Originally from Long Island, New York, Mr. Grinnon graduated from the University of Maryland in 2005. While at the University of Maryland, Michael played four years on the men’s basketball team. Mr. Grinnon holds the distinct title of the only member of the men’s basketball team in the University of Maryland history to have won both a National Championship and ACC Conference championship.

Michael Grinnon is actively involved in numerous community and professional organizations. Michael continues to be involved with the University of Maryland, including: member of the Terrapin Club Board of Directors, member of the Friends of Gary (Williams), and has assisted the University of Maryland Alumni Association in the Great Expectations Campaign to raise one billion dollars.

Additionally, Mr. Grinnon is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), member of the host committee for Camp Fantastic and Special Love. Mr. Grinnon has recently been named Chair of the “Young Executive Society” (YES) at the Tower Club with 350 participants involved in professional and community initiatives. Michael also coaches a 6th grade youth basketball team at his local parish, St. Marks. Mr. Grinnon lectures at local camps and schools on the topic transitioning from athlete to executive many times a year.

Outside of his professional and charitable work, Mr. Grinnon trains for the fall marathon season, enjoys being involved at all levels many sports, and continues to work towards his goal of a single digit golf handicap.
